Abstract:
Loteanu’s poetry is marked strongly by the spirit of the age and it has a great emotional resonance in the 60s - 70s of the last century. It is a pictorial, musical poetry, with a spectacular trajectory. It is a poem evolving from youth’s reveries and exaggerated vitality, being aggravated by the cosmic gigantism, to the revelation of Dostoyevsky that beauty will save the world. His poetry has two Loteanu, one is the neo-romantic poet of „the continuous revolution” and the other is the poet with „the eyes burned by the Beauty”,
excelling in lyrical love. The first is conformist and nonconformist, a stylist of the socialist realism’s ideas, of the bygone „historical optimism”, the second is subversive, passing to maturity through an acute crisis of a Pygmalion with „the eyes burned by the Beauty”.
