dc.description.abstract In the given article our goal is to highlight the most important moments related to the formation of the writing proficiency in the Romanian language for foreign students. There are listed and described the stages of writing proficiency training, the compliance with which guarantees success. The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages distinguishes three types of writing competence: beginner, intermediate and advanced. We also present the writing skills that a foreign student must have from each of the three periods referred to above. We offer a short description of the moments that are taken into account by the teacher in planning the writing activities. For the guaranteed formation of the writing skill the foreign students have to go through the following steps: prescription, writing, after-writing. en_US
