Abstract:
In this paper we try to focus on the two possible solutions for the creative block in the art education field and also in other learning activities. Considering the definition, the manifestation and the causes of the creative block, we try to analyse the answers from 43 art students and find ways of overcoming it. We consider the approach of art-therapy and specific techniques; a conceptual delimitation and an explanation for what an art-therapist does, the benefits of these techniques and a short description of each of the four techniques is also required. There is a difference between the specific art-therapy techniques and artistic decorative techniques but we emphasize the way both approaches can help stimulate the creativity in their specific ways. The art-therapy techniques do not require skills, they are meant to contribute to self- development, to improve inner creativity and self-reflection. The artistic techniques, all three described in this paper, have a functional component and they are based on an algorithm and stages, which prevents decision fatigue and help focus, leading at the creative block overcoming.
