| dc.description.abstract | The work of Mihai Eminescu represents a constant source of inspiration for Romanian visual artists, who have transposed Eminescu's poetic universe into various forms of visual expression. Romanian artists have explored a wide range of Eminescu themes, from romantic landscapes and allegorical scenes with metaphorical content, to portraits of the poet and illustrations of his poems. Some artists have focused on rendering the dreamlike atmosphere and symbols in Eminescu's poems (D. Paciurea, L. Macovei, Gh. Vrabie, I. Vieru, I. Daghi etc.), while others have preferred a more realistic approach, focusing on the poet's portrait and on illustrating scenes from his life (I. Jalea, L. Dubinovschi, T. Cataraga, A. David etc.). | en_US |
