Abstract:
The objectives of the article are to identify the museum's educational valences and to reveal some methodological aspects of museum education of students in the context of socio-humanistic disciplines. The article refers to the contributions of a number of specialists in the field, such as Samuel Quiccheberg, Dimitrie Cantemir, Nicolae Iorga, Sorin-Mihai Constantinescu, to the definition of the concept of museum and museum education. The five key stakes of museum education, proposed by the educationalist and scholar Constantin Cucoș, are also characterized. It is also pointed out that the curricula of socio-humanistic subjects offer sufficient didactic opportunities for museum education of students. Within this context, a list of educational activities in Romanian and Universal History and Education for Society is presented, which can be carried out in museums, thus contributing to the formation/development of specific competences in pupils. The paper proposes concrete ways of didactic use of the commemorative exhibitions of the National Museum of Romanian Literature, respecting the curricular framework of Romanian and Universal History subjects.
