Abstract:
In the context of globalization, higher education plays a fundamental role in promoting multiculturalism and multilingualism, contributing to the integration of international students and the development of intercultural competencies. Through the implementation of appropriate educational policies, universities create a conducive framework for students’ adaptation to academic and professional environments characterized by linguistic and cultural diversity. By analyzing educational theories and successful models from various European countries, the importance of a multilingual curriculum, academic mobility programs, and innovative pedagogical methods is highlighted. Consequently, the article emphasizes the necessity of developing intercultural communicative competence, as well as the challenges and opportunities associated with adopting new educational practices. Teaching methods that foster intercultural understanding and their positive impact on the academic climate are discussed. The role of institutional policies in promoting an inclusive culture is also examined, along with strategies for integrating multiculturalism and multilingualism into universities. The article concludes that the implementation of coherent educational policies is essential for strengthening an open and inclusive higher education system.
