Abstract:
Stimulating interest in the study of geography stems from the appropriate selection of methods and techniques that aim to spark curiosity toward this school subject. The importance of geography in modern education and the need to adapt teaching methods are increasingly recognized. Active and participatory methods—such as geographic games, case studies, and group projects—make learning more engaging and relevant for students. These approaches encourage learners to explore, investigate, and discover on their own, which enhances curiosity and the desire to learn. Students are placed in situations where they must analyze geographic data, interpret maps, and formulate arguments, thus developing their critical thinking and ability to solve complex problems. Through activities like debates and simulations, students learn to assess different perspectives and make informed decisions. Working in teams on geography projects and participating in group discussions help students improve their communication and collaboration skills. They learn to express their ideas clearly and concisely, listen actively, and work effectively with others.
