Abstract:
The material is intended as an analysis of the importance of field applications in the formation of specific skills in the subject of geography, specifying that this discipline opens the way to knowledge of the environment. Observations organized directly in nature allow students to reach clear representations of geographical objects and phenomena and thus form a solid body of knowledge in the field we are talking about. An important teaching tool in relation to the cognitive and affective development of the child that offers him the opportunity to observe, research, and directly know a wide variety of aspects of the natural environment is the excursion. This facilitates the education and development of the aesthetic sense, arouses love for nature and respect for its beauties, stimulates the curiosity and team spirit of children, they keep in their memory some moments that can be unforgettable for them for the rest of their lives. The material further presents information about the purpose of the geographical excursion, what are the stages followed by the teacher to carry out such an extracurricular activity with students, the types of excursions, as well as the periods and times of their implementation.
