Studii superioare de doctorat: provocări actuale și perspective de dezvoltare

Abstract

Doctoral higher education represents the third cycle of university studies and allows for the acquisition of a Level 8 qualification within the National Qualifications Framework. This year marks the tenth anniversary of the establishment of doctoral schools in higher education institutions and scientific research institutions in the Republic of Moldova. Over this period, several regulations concerning the organization and operation of Doctoral Schools have been developed and implemented. However, a series of organizational, structural, and content-related problems have emerged. These include the conditions for obtaining the right to supervise doctoral students, thesis defense deadlines, the number of doctoral students per supervisor, and other related issues. The normative acts regulating the activity of Doctoral Schools are largely outdated, which necessitates intervention from the relevant ministry, as well as from specialists in research fields, to optimize the activity of these schools.
