dc.description.abstract Prosocial behavior is essential for the healthy development of children, influencing their educational success and integration into communities. However, recent studies suggest an alarming decline in prosocial behavior among elementary school-aged children. Reports from OECD, UNICEF, and APA indicate a significant reduction in empathy and an increase in aggression in primary schools, factors closely linked to excessive use of technology and a decrease in face-to-face interactions. For example, a 2022 UNICEF study shows that 1 in 3 children experience delays in social skills development, and research suggests that prolonged use of technology affects the ability to understand and respond appropriately to others' emotions. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated these issues, with studies from Harvard Graduate School of Education and Save the Children demonstrating the negative impact of social isolation on children's interaction and empathy skills. In this context, implementing evidence-based educational programs is essential for supporting the development of prosocial behavior and counteracting these negative trends. en_US
