The loss of a loved one generates pain and significant changes, and counseling plays a crucial role in supporting the grieving individual. The article details counseling techniques such as exploring positive memories, using objects of connection, and cognitive restructuring, which help express and process emotions. The counselor supports the client in managing the pain and accepting the loss, encouraging them to reconcile their emotions and understand its impact on their life. Gradual adaptation to the post-loss reality involves integrating memories and the lessons learned, without forgetting the deceased person, but keeping their memory in a way that facilitates emotional healing. The article emphasizes the importance of a healthy grieving process and continuous support in this endeavor, helping grieving individuals rebuild their lives and find a balance between the pain of loss and the desire to move forward. |
