dc.description.abstract Part of the globalization phenomenon, current emigration is a cultural reality. Conscious reporting on the migration process offers psychological comfort and security in everyday life, but it also causes opposite reactions. Dealing with current issues, the Bessarabian dramaturgy of the last decades stood out for the frequency of a theme that seeks to decipher the human condition in the contemporary world. From the variety of themes that «migrate» from author to author, we also note the Bessarabian emigrant «condition». Val Butnaru’s dramatic texts are part of the principles of socially engaged theater that also deals with the theme of migration. Avant de mourir is a drama about emigration and exile, about the uprooted artist, about the balancing moments that those forced to emigrate go through. en_US
