Abstract:
Sensitive and controversial issues can be found in the history of all peoples. There are always multiple interpretations of historical events, based on different explanations, which can divide people and nations. Historical content is often approached depending on interests, political coloration, external influences, or the expertise of those addressing these topics. This research study presents some aspects of multiperspectivity, as well as sensitive and controversial issues in history, through a brief overview of the historiography on the matter. To enhance the study of history from multiple perspectives, several suggestions and examples of practical activities are proposed for addressing sensitive and controversial historical topics at various stages of the lesson, according to the framework of Evocation – Understanding – Re ection – Extension.
