Abstract:
Cultural heritage represents a fundamental element in preserving identity and strengthening the values of a nation. In a global context characterized by cultural homogenization and increasingly strong external influences, the educational system plays a crucial role in transmitting cultural heritage and shaping a solid sense of identity. School subjects thus become a conducive environment for exploring, understanding, and valuing historical heritage, cultural diversity, and contemporary contexts. Education for Society promotes essential competencies for understanding and valuing cultural diversity, contributing to the formation of responsible and empathetic citizens. Through this subject, students learn to appreciate cultural plurality and recognize the importance of cultural heritage as an integral part of social identity. Exploring national values and diversity, as well as developing critical thinking, provides young people with the tools needed to interact harmoniously in a multicultural society. Education for Society thus integrates cultural heritage into the learning process, fostering respect for history and traditions. Romanian and Universal History plays a central role in cultivating respect for historical heritage and cultural legacy. The study of national and universal history provides students with a detailed perspective on the events and processes that have shaped national and global identity. In this way, young people develop a deep understanding of continuity and change in society, nurturing values such as patriotism and respect for traditions. Education through Film is an innovative method of promoting cultural heritage, offering students the opportunity to understand contemporary global issues through the cultural contexts presented cinematically. Educational films facilitate an emotional and visual connection to traditions and history, stimulating critical thinking and creativity. The integration of these subjects into the curriculum significantly contributes to preserving cultural heritage and developing a strong national identity. Through multidisciplinary approaches and the promotion of a deep understanding of cultural values, these disciplines support the formation of a generation capable of valuing the past and actively engaging in preserving cultural heritage.
