dc.description.abstract The major problem of the memorial heritage in the northern area of the Republic of Moldova is, without a doubt, the long persistence of a single memorial facet of the far-reaching events for that area, dictated by the historical context in which the area between the Prut and the Dniester was placed after the Peace Conference from Paris since 1946. The re-entry of Bessarabia into the sphere of Soviet socio-cultural values, ostentatiously imposed with the end of the Second World War, the hyperbolization of the liberating and humanizing role of the Soviet army, the pushing to the extreme of the civilizational ties between Moldovans and Russians generated patrimonial representations unilateral, with aspects convenient to the communist regime. Its fall determined the re-entry into the socio-cultural circuit of multi-perspective memory and the objective highlighting of historical factology, without denying the anti-human dimension of the Nazi and Communist regimes alike, and countering propagandistic manifestations. In this way, the impact of the atrocities of the communist regime became in itself an element that exposes the politics of the regime, but this fact hardly found its place in the public patrimonial sphere. The perpetuation of the memory of historical figures falls within the same action context. The ideational coexistence of the authentic national heritage and the Soviet cultural heritage generates intense discussions and interpretations, based on the civic attitude, the level and manner of culturalization, the ethnic affliation, the political options of various social categories. en_US
