Unele aspecte privind perioadele de influență grecească asupra vocabularului limbii române

Abstract

This article addresses the issue of the Greek influence on the vocabulary of the Romanian language. Peoples from the southwestern Europe have had close relations with each other since ancient times, and this fapt led to the linguistic exchange. The vocabulary of the Romanian language includes several lexical layers. One of them is the abstract of Greek origin. As the Greek influence can be seen through the borrowings, we must say that it was occurred in several periods. Different linguists have researched the periods of the Greek influence on the vocabulary of the Romanian language. From their research works we understand that the Greek influence is quite significant and it is difficult to know for sure which period a word belongs to.
