dc.description.abstract This article presents some important characteristic aspects of autism spectrum disorders and ways of speech therapy rehabilitation. It raises the alarm about the need to initiate speech therapy as early as possible, immediately after diagnosis. The three levels involved in the autistic spectrum disorder are brought to attention, which have particular relevance and which have endured over time, although they have not been able to fully explain the biological aspects responsible for the emergence of the disorder. Relatives must know that, regardless of the level of classification and diagnosis of the autistic disorder, it cannot be cured, but it can have positive results through the application of speech therapy. Appropriate speech therapy intervention methods and strategies can offer the child a life close to normality, personal and social independence. The article briefly presents an important range of speech therapy methods and strategies successfully applied in Romania and other geographical areas. The efficiency of Speech therapy recovery depends on the child's level of development, the medical prognosis, the choice of the most suitable speech therapy recovery methods and strategies, and the family's partnership with the speech therapist. en_US
