Abstract:
The European Union Information Center (EUIC) housed within the Scientific Library of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM) stands as a pivotal resource for disseminating information and fostering education regarding the European Union (EU). Since its establishment in 2011, the EUIC has emerged as a significant hub of EU-related knowledge catering to students, faculty, researchers, and various socio-professional groups across the Republic of Moldova. Providing access to a wide array of official EU documents and publications, spanning traditional and electronic formats, including Romanian translations, the EUIC ensures accessibility to a wealth of information. Boasting a collection of over 110,000 electronic publications available in all 24 official EU languages, the center actively supports educational and research endeavors, thereby enriching Moldova's academic landscape. Beyond its role in information dissemination and educational support, the EUIC undertakes initiatives aimed at promoting European values and initiatives within the Republic of Moldova. Leveraging social media networks and mass media channels, the center actively engages the public on pertinent EU-related topics, including climate change, green energy, and sustainable development. The EUIC situated within the Scientific Library of ASEM serves as a cornerstone in enabling access to knowledge and advancing European values within the Republic of Moldova.
