Abstract:
The changes in the Law on libraries no. 160 of 20-07-2017 (LP283 of 05.10.23, MO399- 400/25.10.23 art.682; in force 25.11.23), come to strengthen the role of the library in society by diversifying library activities in accordance with trends and practices international in the field; going to adjust the national norms with those of the European Union and related policies for libraries in all member states of the Council of Europe, in the context of the international commitments assumed by the Republic of Moldova. In this article, the author highlights some legislative inconveniences found in the text of the law, which can be interpreted and applied in practice differently.
