Abstract:
The impact of open science on scholarly publishing and communication has led to significant changes in the services provided by the university library. Using a systematic review of the scientific literature, 45 research articles on the academic library and open science have been retrieved. The concept of open science is approached from different perspectives encompassing the following components: open access (open access scientific publications, open educational resources, open research data), open peer review, open digital identifier, open source software, citizen science. Based on these aspects, this study case describes the most important software projects of a Romanian university library. The experiences presented demonstrate that the university library has the necessary levers to promote and support open science. At the same time, the librarians engaged in these projects contributed not only to their professional development, but also to the recognition of the library value among the academic community.
