Abstract:
The university library has an essential role in promoting Open Science by providing resources, information and services that facilitate free access to knowledge. The activity of the library is oriented towards organizing and facilitating access to open resources: databases, digital repositories, open access journals, online collections and other open resources. The library is involved in various initiatives and communities that promote open science, thereby strengthening global and local efforts to support this approach in research and higher education. The creation and management of the Institutional Repository is an important responsibility for the library in the context of promoting open science and facilitating access to academic research. By promoting open access publishing of textbooks, scientific publications, and other educational resources, open science provides students and teachers with free access to quality information, thereby contributing to the quality of scientific studies and research. Organizing and conducting various information and training activities about the benefits and practices of Open Science contributes to awareness of the impact of open science in the university scientific community and to promoting the use of open resources. The library supports researchers in publishing their work in open access journals, develops guides and informative resources about open science, including how to find open resources, copyright and open licenses.
