Abstract:
Founded in 1993 within the "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University in Iași, the section of Cultural Heritage (later called Sacred Art) will become the first accredited section of university education in Romania, with the aim of training specialists in the field of conservation and restoration of mobile cultural heritage (old book icon and polychrome wood). In 1999, a new specialization appeared, Painting, and in 2017 the study program was accredited according to the standards in the field of Visual Arts. During the 30 years, the Sacred Art section carried out an intense didactic, artistic creation and research activity in the field of Art History, Investigation, Conservation and Restoration of mobile cultural heritage.
