Abstract:
The article examines the activity of academician Boris Melnic, who is a renowned name in national science, the father of Moldovan physiology and the founder of a new scientific field - the School of Neuro-endocrinology and Homology. His managerial career experienced a remarkable dynamic, evolving from the position of lecturer, associate professor, university professor - to that of dean, pro rector and rector of the State University of Moldova. His scientific and managerial contributions influenced the development of science and university education in Moldova. The fundamental and applied researches, the synthesis studies in the field of physiology, the managerial contributions of the scientist Boris Melnic come to confirm, as a whole, the contribution of this personality to the development of science in Moldova, but also to the evolution of national education. As a promoter of moral values and a rigorous animator of changes in science and education, through his achievements the great academician strove to pass on a rich legacy of gratitude and appreciation to his country.
