Distincțiile acordate cercetătorilor din Republica Moldova în 2023: recunoaștere a meritelor științifice?

Abstract

The article examines how scientific researchers in the Republic of Moldova are decorated with diplomas and medals. The aim of the study was to establish some characteristics of the process of awarding scientific researchers in the course of one year (2023). To this end, the study involved establishing the structure of the distinctions awarded according to different criteria - type of distinction, share of women, scientific title of the recipient, etc. It was identified that as the value of the distinction increases, the share of women among those decorated decreases, that there are interesting differences in the structure of diplomas and medals offered by different national bodies (ASM, ANACEC and AGEPI) and that last year no less than 1/3 of scientific researchers in the Republic of Moldova received distinctions. The analysis of the results was carried out in cooperation with ChatGPT. It can be seen that the awarding of distinctions is a management tool for increasing authority and compensating for less favourable conditions for scientific activity, which meets the need for recognition and appreciation of researchers.
