Muzică și culoare în poezia eminesciană

Abstract

Art and science can be perceived as the two sides of the same coin - the depiction of reality, where science reflects the objective dimension and art - the subjective one. Unlike science, however, where each branch has its own method, the arts free themselves from these limits and thrive by reciprocal exchange of the means of communication. Literary art not only admits the use of means typical of painting, such as color, or music, such as the specific combination of rhythm and sound, but furthermore, they can intensify the emotional impact on the reader. In the same way, Eminescu's poetry is not content to solely convey a message but pursues the ambitious goal of creating genuine universes into which it can transport its reader. And in order to give authenticity to these universes, Eminescu stimulates several senses simultaneously: the reader not only receives the information but can see or even hear it. The musicality and color of Eminescu's verse is, hence, the subject of this article.
