The application is the most accessible and the simplest method of creating works of art, it is based on cutting out various details and applying them to the background in a certain order. The parts are fixed to the base using different adhesives. Nowadays, a wide variety of elements can be used in applications: paper of various types, fabrics, threads, dried plants, leaves, seeds, flowers and other materials from nature. The work presents the materials and tools necessary for the application: scissors, glue brushes, the support for them, etc. Some definitions of the application concept are proposed, application types and forms are exposed. Various non-traditional appliqué techniques are also described: broken appliqué, modular overlapping appliqué (mosaic), symmetrical appliqué, ribbon appliqué, thread appliqué, quilling, origami, collage, etc.
