Abstract:
Professional Burnout represents the phenomenon that is escalating more in contemporary society, manifesting including at the age of youth. The exorbitant pressure at work, the high expectations of employers, the overwork, the high workload, the permanently extended working hours, the lack of work-life balance, the uncertainty regarding career and professional development, the lack of support and resources, the obsessive perfectionism, the overstated responsibility in completing tasks, the exaggerated desire for performance as well as demanding unachievable performances, the low resistance to stress, difficulties in planning complex and multiple activities are some of the significant factors that lead to the establishment of Professional Burnout among young people. The article highlights the symptoms, the factors of Professional Burnout, specifies the structural components of the Professional Burnout. The paper presents the results of the study focused on the evaluation of the level of Professional Burnout among young people, which aims at the following dimensions: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, reduction of personal achievements; the data obtained regarding the defining profiles of the respective phenomenon are described: frantic, demotivated, exhausted.
