Abstract:
The proposed article explores the importance and evolution of prosocial behavior during middle childhood, focusing on the significant contributions of prestigious researchers: Albert Bandura, Carol Gilligan, Martin Hoffman, and Nancy Eisenberg. In this developmental stage, children face a series of social and emotional challenges, and educators play an essential role in guiding this process. By analyzing the theories and research of these experts, the article provides a comprehensive perspective on how children develop socioemotional skills and prosocial behaviors. Concepts such as social learning, gender perspectives, empathy, altruism, and emotional self-regulation are explored, highlighting their importance in shaping healthy prosocial behavior. The article also suggests ways to promote socioemotional development in educational environments, offering a useful guide for educators and parents to support children in developing a strong prosocial behavior during middle childhood.
