Abstract:
Psychotherapy comes to the aid of patients when they are in an existential difficulty. It is important to choose the right form of work for the patient in order to make the therapeutic process more efficient. Individual and group therapy aims to discover the spontaneous, authentic, creative human nature. Both types of psychotherapy do this, only that the individual one is of an existential, experiential nature, and the group one belongs to the interpersonal frame of reference. It is more effective to combine them, in the sense of exploring first, then analyzing and subsequently learning new behaviors. In relation to the therapist or the other participants in the therapy, the patient can ask the right questions, and the answers can turn into effective, functional life solutions. In the article I will describe these psychotherapeutic approaches and talk about the limits and advantages of individual and group psychotherapy. The individual or group approach depends on the individual, on his way of manifestation, on the goals he brings to the therapy.
