dc.description.abstract The article addresses the problem of loneliness from the perspective of existentialist therapy. The relevance of the study is due to the fact that loneliness is today one of the most widespread phenomena in modern society, characteristic of all age groups. Every person faces existential loneliness in difficult life situations (illness, death, crisis), and such situations are inevitably experienced in loneliness and require "a meeting with oneself". In experiencing existential loneliness the person gains a valuable experience for the awareness of their own humanity. The study shows that from the perspective of existentialist therapy, loneliness also has positive aspects. Moreover, the experience of loneliness is seen as a necessary factor in personal development when a person becomes aware of existential loneliness, uses loneliness as a necessary break to address himself, his inner world, as pleasant moments of self-communication and creativity. In conclusion, it is found that from the perspective of existentialist therapy, the experience of loneliness has a double role in personal development, on the one hand, it can hinder the development of personality, being a negative factor, and on the other hand, on the contrary, it can contribute to the development of personality, being its positiveaspect. en_US
