Abstract:
Today, the topic of conflict is of particular interest to specialists in various fields: teachers, psychologists, social workers, sociologists, politicians, managers, diplomats, etc., with in other words, for all those who, in their work, are confronted with problems relating to human interaction. Conflict is a permanent part of our life experience, some people only know how to provoke conflict, others how to resolve it. In the educational environment, conflict involves a confrontation of interests, feelings, needs, ideas, values, opposing attitudes that are difficult to reconcile between teachers and their pupils, as well as opposition between status and role of each of the educational actors. In any community or group, tense situations arise from various causes, manifesting themselves in various forms, latently or actively, progressively or regressively, in the short or long term, with immediate or delayed effects, resolved partially, totally or postponed. In this article we will analyse the importance and role of assertive communication in conflict management. We will also refer to the types of conflicts identified in the educational environment and ways of managing them.
