Abstract:
In the conditions of globalization and universalization of human existence, identity knowledge is increasingly called upon. In the present study, the elements of the symbolism of the pediment of the private houses in the Lunga micro-district of the city of Dubăsari are examined. The reason for the examination is conditioned by the study of ethnic values for local history. In the research, the symbolic elements from the theoretical references are reported which are related to the artifacts identified in the field studies. The study considers the origin and meaning of the main identified symbols: triangle, rhombus, circle, bird, deer, world tree. From the conclusions to which this study is given, we can highlight that the most common symbols belong, on the one hand, to the Slavic culture and, on the other hand, carry a deep sacred meaning and a universal metaphysical meaning.
