Abstract:
The use of authentic materials in teaching foreign languages represents an efficient and beneficial pedagogical strategy for students. An important aspect of this article was the selection and implementation of these materials in the teaching process, which brought numerous advantages for students. Authentic materials are written or audiovisual documents created by native speakers of the target language for real-life purposes, outside the educational context. The analysis of the experiment results highlighted the factors that led to the increased proficiency in the French language among middle school students: authentic materials, content planning, set objectives, and the materials used. The use of authentic materials in teaching foreign languages significantly contributes to the development of authentic and comprehensive linguistic competence. By exposing students to real language and the cultural context of native speakers, they become more prepared to communicate authentically in the studied language, simultaneously developing a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of it.
