Abstract:
An important role in promotion of Greek culture and preparing of teachers needed to develop the studies in Greek language in Moldova was played by the Constantinople Patriarchal Academy having close connection with the country in XVI century already. Nicolae Mavrocordat provided support to establishment of some schools in the Ottoman Empire. Cultural centers of that type existed in Rome, Venice, Padova, Florence, Milano, etc. All these schools played an important role in spreading of post-byzantine culture and organization of education system in Moldova through education of teachers and training of young Romans.
