Abstract:
The paper examines and characterizes the following aspects of the general theory of pedagogical research: the concept of pedagogical research; the legalities, principles, and general methodology of pedagogical research. The general theory of pedagogical research describes the phenomenon under investigation, explains and elucidates the internal content of the object, and establishes the essence of the pedagogical phenomenon under examination. The research methods pursue the objective of determining the activity of the research pedagogue in relation to the object of study — education in permanent change and development—and contribute to the achievement of the projected goal. The paper analyzes the relationships between educational activity as a socio-human phenomenon and educational research activity. Greater attention is paid to the sources and ways of substantiating pedagogical research.
