dc.description.abstract The article refers to the formation of working competence with the geographical map in the lessons of geography in the school education. The geographic map allows you to view the space from the smallest surface of the Earth to its overall representation, creating a general view of the shape, size and position of objects by coordinates, lengths, areas, heights, volumes, etc. These particularities explain the significance and practical value of it, to be used in various fields of activity. A special role is played by maps in the training process by facilitating the learning and memorization of geographic knowledge, as well as the development of the cartographic skills needed by any personality. en_US
