Abstract:
Wildfire has been an important process af ecting the Earth's surface and atmosphere for over 350 million years and human societies have coexisted with fire since their emergence. The increase in the frequency of wildifres in recent years against the background of regional climatic oscillations and events, as well as irrational human intervention require an interdisciplinary research of the wildifires regime in order to ensure proper land management. This paper aims to analyze the spatial, temporal and statistical pattern of the wildfires regime in Botoșani and Suceava counties (Romania) between 2009 and 2018 based on data obtained from field observations.
