Abstract:
The ef ects of torrential rains can be significantly reduced by properly managing them and carrying out complex measures and actions. The main cause of the damage caused by torrential rains and floods is the irrational use of river valleys and the intensification of economic activity in high-risk areas. The primary task of decision makers is to develop concrete measures to prevent, reduce and combat the negative consequences of torrential rains and floods triggered by them with the most accurate delimitation of areas at risk, which will significantly reduce the costs of eliminating these risks.
