Abstract:
The damages caused to the agricultural sector of the Republic of Moldova by the late spring frosts and the early autumn frosts with high intensity, in the period 1997-2015 amounted to 434.8 million lei. The annual frequency of frosts with significant damage during the study period varied from 0 cases (a.2011, 2012, 2013, 2015 ) to 13 case-periods (a.2017). The biggest damages caused by the frost periods, in administrative-territorial profile, for the study period 1997-2015, were registered in the districts: Ocnița with damages amounting to about 50 million lei; Briceni - with damages of 45 million lei; and Soroca - with 20 million lei.
