Abstract:
In this article the author describes the concept of social adjustment in terms of Gestalt therapy. In Gestalt therapy the term adaptation is considered to be the result of the regulation of "borders" between the self and the environment, and the ability to meet personal needs. Through the process of adaptation the body maintains its balance, so that it is healthy in every variable. The conditions that ensure self-regulation and adaptation are described as well as the cycle of the contact mechanisms an its interruption.
