Abstract:
In the paper there are presented the results of the investigation of the blood status following the acceptance of a vegetarian diet, which, in combination with other factors, is the premise of a healthy lifestyle, the most important for restoring, maintaining and fortifying health. The data denotes that people who use vegetarian and vegan food have the investigated blood samples within the limits of normal values that do not deviate from the registered indicators from people with omnivorous nutrition. The blood cholesterol is an important indicator of the risk of the disease, its level in people with vegetarian and vegan diet having lower values than those seen in people with omnivorous diet, which indicates a reduction of the risk of a possible illness.
