Abstract:
Hearing impairment is part of the category of sensory impairments along with visual impairment. Compared to other deficits, hearing loss is not easily observable, both by ordinary people and sometimes not even by doctors. One of the peculiarities of this dysfunction is the great variability of sensory loss, but also the moment of hearing loss, which in children is very much 286 related to the structure of verbal communication. The consequences in terms of development and education in children are largely correlated with the type and degree of hearing loss, as well as with the amount of hearing loss.

Deficienţa de auz face parte din categoria deficienţelor senzoriale alături de deficienţa de vedere. In comparaţie cu alte deficite, cea de auz nu este prea uşor observabilă, atât de catre oamenii obişnuiţi şi uneori nici chiar de către medici. Una din particularităţie acestei disfuncţii este si marea variabilitate a pierderii senzoriale, dar si momentul pierderii auzului, care la copii se leaga foarte mult de structura comunicarii verbale. Consecintele in planul dezvoltarii si educatiei la copii se coreleaza in mare masura cu tipul si gradul de deficit auditiv, precum si cu monentul pierderii de auz.
