dc.description.abstract This article focuses on the need to study proverbs in the context of studying English and how the concise structure and semantic load of proverb content can contribute to the development of communication skills in students in a foreign language. The author presents an experimental study that allowed a comprehensive analysis of respondents' attitudes towards learning and teaching English proverbs, their opinions about knowing the proverbs and their perceptions about the textbooks used when the proverbs were studied. en_US
