dc.description.abstract Emotion regulation is an important component of emotional competence, which develops in the first years of life and is of particular importance for the development of appropriate and flexible social behavior. Emotional regulation can be defined as the ability of an individual to regulate their emotions, both positive and negative, by attenuating, intensifying or simply maintaining them. Autism Spectrum Disorders are neurodevelopmental disorders characterized by deficits in social communication and repetitive and restricted patterns of behavior, with early onset in the child's developmental trajectory. This type of child also shows an intensified emotional reactivity, with varying degrees of difficulty in emotional regulation. en_US
