Abstract:
Familia în societatatea modernă cu toată rezistența venită din partea statului și a bisericii tinde să
capete noi dinamici, tinde să se schimbe și mulți cercetători se întreabă pe bună dreptatea încotro ne
îndreptăm. Ce se întâmplă cu copii și cum schimbările din structura familiei îi poate afecta. Avem totuși
cercetări din țările mai dezvoltate care sau confruntat sau încă se confruntă asemeni nouă cu aceste probleme.
Studii realizate în Statele Unite arată că între 1 și 9 milioane de copii au cel puțin un părinte care este
homosexual: lesbiană sau gay. Conform recensământului din 2000 realizat tot în US se consideră că există
aproximativ 594.000 de gospodării care au parteneri de același sex. Iar majoritatea cercetărilor arată că,
copiii cu două mame sau doi tați se descurcă la fel de bine ca și copiii cu părinți heterosexuali. În fapt, un
studiu cuprinzător al copiilor crescuți de mame lesbiene sau de tați gay a concluzionat că copiii crescuți de
părinții de același sex nu diferă de alți copii în ceea ce privește funcționarea emoțională, învățarea, orientarea
sexuală, stigmatizarea, orientare și identitatea de gen, comportamentul și/sau performanța academică. Putem
menționa deasemenea faptul că, copiii din gospodăriile gay și lesbiene sunt mai empatici, mai rezistenți în
fața stresului, mai plini de compasiune și toleranți.

The family in modern society with all the resistance from the state and the church tends to gain
new dynamics, it tends to change and many researchers rightly wonder where we are going. What happens to
children and how changes in family structure can affect them. However, we have research from more
developed countries that have either faced or still face similar problems with us. Studies in the United States
show that between 1 and 9 million children have at least one parent who is gay: lesbian or gay. According to
the 2000 census conducted in the US, it is estimated that there are approximately 594,000 households that
have same-sex partners. And most research shows that children with two mothers or two fathers do just as
well as children with heterosexual parents. In fact, a comprehensive study of children raised by lesbian
mothers or gay fathers concluded that children raised by same-sex parents do not differ from other children
in terms of emotional functioning, learning, sexual orientation, stigma, orientation, and gender identity,
behavior and / or academic performance. We can also mention the fact that children from gay and lesbian
households are more empathetic, more resistant to stress, more compassionate and tolerant.
