Abstract:
The union of Basarabia with Romania was logical result, which was determined by numerous premises. In the national
realising process of Basarabia, between april 1917 and march 1918, was mentioned few political steps, wich was need, keeping in mind Basarabia special conditions, for eliberation fighting. The national political movement of the Bassarabian Romanians for the reunification of the nation would not have succeeded until its logical end, if it did not coexist with a systemic cultural activity. Thus, the struggle of the Moldovans for the national culture constituted an essential element of the national liberation movement in the country, a factor that contributed to the awakening and consolidation of the nation consciousness, which ultimately led to the Union of Bassarabia with Romania.
