Abstract:
The architectural monuments in the country are undeniable testimonies of our historical past. Thus, they represent the historical
heritage that needs to be preserved, restored and capitalized by the authorities and other representatives such as local councils, parish
councils. The problems of preserving the architectural monuments become more and more current as more and more buildings are being destroyed so that new buildings can be built in their place, others being left to break up. In addition to legislation, a number of other factors and measures are needed to ensure that this area is truly protected and valued at its fair value, including raising awareness among decision-makers, ministry, local councils in support of maintenance and restoration heritage assets, attracting sponsorships and investors to religious cultural objectives and adjacent areas and more. In the system of specific representing to traditional society, wood was considered as sacred material, given by God. The churches in the villages were usually built from it, the stone was avoided.
The situation in our country regarding wooden edifices, either churches or windmills, over the past 20 years, and the protection of architectural heritage is a disastrous one. In the years of independence, nothing has been done to protect and harness the cultural heritage. The worst thing is that it was not possible to save those monuments that had already been destroyed.
The main purpose of this paper is to present the necessity of the stringency of the preservation, promotion and valorization of the wooden religious heritage, as well as the study of the field research and the archive documents the causes, premises, context and stages of degradation, lack of interest to the religious heritage, as the number of wooden churches decreases vertiginously.
Given the precarious condition of these edifices made of perishable material and the various dangers to which they are exposed, it is very important to undergo rigorous documentation, an assessment of their day-to-day condition to investigate and scientifically interpreting this patrimony, knowing the values and providing protection as much as it is important.
