Abstract:
Exit from experience and wisdom of life, from joy or pain, from the aspirations and aspirations of the Romanian, from the thirst for silence or from the love of beauty, the elements of culture and folk traditions transmit values and create bridges between generations. Traditions, customs, folk port and folklore are invaluable treasures that define a people, making them unique, steadfast and immortal. The importance of knowing the values of capital identity, at individual, community and national levels, is fundamental to the understanding and consecration of their place in the world. Today, in the context of globalization, the promotion of cultural identity is a priority strategy of our country, and the Romanian identity can only remain alive by preserving the cultural heritage. In addition to popular creations (doines, ballads, fairytales and legends, proverbs and sayings or poems), the traditional Romanian culture also includes craftsmanship, ceramics, wooden objects, fabrics, embroidery and, last but not least, a part of UNESCO heritage. The carpet, thanks to its many functions and meanings, to the level of artistic and millennial continuity, completes the cultural matrix of our people. Through the representative ornaments, the carpet maintains the thread of intergenerational communication, impregnating in the collective mentality the most mysterious meanings. The ornamental elements that are dealt with in this article, especially those of national value (basil, vine, world tree, horn, dove, rooster, horn, diamonds, anthropomorphic figures) give the carpet uniqueness, originality and individuality.
