Abstract:
Belt clothing of Ukrainians from the north of the Republic of Moldova is distinguished by a wide variety of forms, ornamentation, functional purpose, ways of wearing. It was divided according to gender, seasonality, social status, purpose (working, everyday, festive and ceremonial), etc. Being basically Ukrainian, the belt clothes of local Ukrainians were strongly influenced by cultural traditions not only from different regions of Ukraine (Bukovina, Podolia, etc.), but also the neighboring Moldovan population and the nearest regions of Romania. All this greatly enriched and diversified the waistcoat of Ukrainians in the north of Moldova.
