Семья и семейные ценности в русском романе II-ой половины XIX века

Abstract

The present article studies the uniqueness of the family and family values' image in the Russian literature of the second half of the XIXth century. As an example, the author refers to the famous novels "Oblomov" by I.A. Goncharov and "The Golovlyov Family" by M.E. Saltykov-Shchedrin. An analysis of the images of the main characters, Ilya Oblomov and Porfiry Golovlyov, through the point of view of the theme stated in the article, helps to determine the role of the family in the formation of personality.
